It's a Wonderful... Fun and Exhausting Journey

With THREE kiddos under the age of TWO, it has been a WONDERFUL....
Fun and Exhausting Journey so far.
Paul and I have had many first / challenging experiences in our life, but I do not think that any compare to having a toddler and twins. There are several times in the day where life becomes a little chaotic. For example, feeding time. Once we finish feeding, burping, changing, swaddling, getting settled or rocking it is time to do it all over again! Oh did I mention, that Reese needs to eat too and we have to repeat in 2 hours! I am not sure I could do this without the help of my mom daily, she is my saint! Thanks mom, I am not sure how I'll ever repay you!

Reese is taking more and more to her sisters daily. She loves to get in my lap while I am feeding one and give them hugs. It is amazing what her little mind soaks up! Yesterday, I looked over and she had taken a burp cloth out of the pack n play and was "burping" her baby. It was so sweet. We just have to remind her often that she has to be gentle.

One of our biggest accomplishments this week was packing up and going over to my parents for Easter! I know that for me, it was AMAZING to be out of the house. I did not care where I was, it was just nice to be out! Packing up three kids was interesting for sure, it was hard to remember everything... pacis, lovies, pj's, packed diaper bag, food we prepared, bottles... etc. We had a wonderful Easter relaxing with all the help!

Finally, some pictures of the nursery. Aunt Jessica painted the letters, are they not SO cute?!? I love them and love the way the room turned out.

Ellie Louise and Alexis Marie

After three long weeks, we are all home together and ready to begin our lives as a family of FIVE!
We were blessed with TWO more baby girls, March 9th. Alexis and Ellie made their debut at 32 weeks. On Thursday March 4th, I was checked into the hospital for fetal monitoring after a doctors appointment that morning that determined my cervix was shorting. We spent that weekend in the hospital and then on Monday night / Tuesday morning I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, pulmonary edema and pneumonia. Once I was stabilized, it was time to deliver our precious girls.... At 2:06pm we had them in our arms. What an amazing feeling that was!

Ellie - 5lb 3oz - 17.5 in and Alexis - 4lb 6oz - 18 in

Our sweet babies are and were VERY healthy for being born preterm at 32 weeks. Ellie spent 13 days in the NICU and Alexis spent 15 days. Their requirement to go home was that they both had to learn to hold their temperature, nipple (bottle) feed all of their feedings and gain weight. At the end of their stay in the NICU Ellie was 5lb 8oz and Alexis was 4lb 14oz.
It is a wonderful feeling to have everyone home and BIG sister is loving each minute of it. Reese has been so sweet and enjoys loving on her sisters. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and thoughts! We appreciate them.
Enjoy some pictures of our sweet angels!

Sweet Twin Girls

Below are the 32 week sono pics from this past week of our sweet angels. They are growing, growing and growing; Baby A weighs 4.3 and Baby B weighs 3.12. It is amazing how much they are gaining weekly. We see a specialist every other week and our regular OB on the opposite weeks, so they are keeping a very close eye on me at this point. We are thinking they should arrive within the next 3 - 4 weeks, which would be full term for twins. I have been very blessed with an wonderful pregnancy again and have just begun to get very uncomfortable. Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers over the next few weeks as we embark on this journey!

The most amazing thing about their sonos is how much they look like Reese. Paul and I could not stop staring at them. Enjoy... Baby B is on the left with a front face view and Baby A is on the right with a profile view.

Reese's Valentine's Day party was postponed until this past Tuesday because of our snow storm, so Gigi and I joined in the fun. Thanks for the cute dress Aunt Jessica!

2010 Blizzard

Dallas / Ft Worth had record snowfall yesterday with 12.5 inches and it is beautiful and fluffy! It is crazy how much snow is on the ground.... Paul, Reese and Dazie had so much fun playing in it. Unfortunately, being too preggo I could not join. :(
